Quality Assurance

 

The practice has developed a quality system for the management of key activities. The system is based on the principles of the ISO 9000 series standards and in accordance with guidelines prepared by the Association of Consulting Engineers New Zealand.

 

It is a dynamic document as elements are continually enhanced and refined to accommodate the changing technical and business environments, and client needs.

 

One of the major areas in which we emphasise quality is project leadership. We consider that the management system is powerless to achieve project success without this necessity. Our leadership principles include:

 

• Seeking to understand the client’s needs, both stated and implied, and to provide input to establish clear goals for the project.

 

• Understanding the environment in which the project is conceived and constructed, so that all factors that could affect the design are considered, such as construction systems and new materials.

 

• Motivating all members of the project team, both within our staff and externally, to the common target of a quality project.

 

• Developing a win-win mentality where all parties gain from a successful team effort.

 

Environmentally Sustainable Design

 

Alan Reay Consultants Limited is a strong advocate for promoting the highest standards of environmental sustainability in the design of its buildings. As people are becoming more aware of how their actions are impacting on the environment around them, we are taking a forward stance and promoting Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) options where possible.
